Job Title: Pharmacy Intern/Technician

Job Location: Grimes, IA

Job Type: Part-time (Flexible 10-20 hours/week)

Join a team of national leaders in the collection and distribution of donated medicines. SafeNetRx is seeking a motivated student to support the nation’s largest drug donation repository and our statewide charitable pharmacy. The part-time position (flexible 10-20 hours/week) will share responsibilities processing incoming medication donations/orders and supporting pharmacy services for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect and sort suitable medication and medical supplies for redistribution.
• Work with patients and advocates to qualify individuals for medication assistance.
• Intake prescription orders and prepare for pharmacist inspection.
• Inter-professional communication with health care teams including physicians, nurses, social workers, and patient advocates.
• Work with clinics and pharmacies to source donated medications for underserved populations.
• Assist in providing educational tours to state and national pharmacy stakeholders including state and local government officials, academia, health care leaders and others.
• Work on projects to enhance SafeNetRx services as designated.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy or pre-pharmacy undergraduate program.
• Preferably a pre-pharmacy sophomore or P1 student.
• Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a technician or pharmacy intern
